Who is God?

Who Is God?

He is:
1. The Creator of all things
2. The Creator and not the creation (God is not a “sacred” tree – He created the tree)
3. To be glorified in and by His creation and handiwork
4. Worthy of worship and praise
5. The Judge of all the earth
The Bible declares that God is the Creator of all things, and not the creation itself. To say that the creation (trees, animals, mountains, rivers, seas, sun, moon, stars, man, woman, etc.) is divine or god, is idolatry and blasphemy against God, the Creator (Exod. 20:1-6). God is not a tree (or object, place, living thing, dead thing, or person). God created the trees and everything else in the heavens and the earth. To say that the earth is our “mother” as some do, is, therefore, to sin against the “Father of our spirits” (Heb. 12:9) who is the true Creator and heavenly Father (Matt. 6:9). “Mother earth” and “mother nature,” as some speak of the creation and events of nature, have no place in the vocabulary of those who reverence God and understand the truth about our Creator.
God created us and placed us upon the earth for His glory and praise (Gen. 1; Ps. 100:1- 5). But, man sinned and rebelled against God (Gen. 3). Sin is transgression against God’s law which is His will for mankind as expressed in His holy word, the Bible (1 John 3:4; Isa. 24:5; Jer. 9:13-15). Sin separates us from the fellowship and blessings of God (Isa. 59:1-2). All have sinned and the wages of sin is death or separation from God (Rom. 3:23; 6:23). However, God in His great love, mercy, and grace (John 3:16) has provided a means for our reconciliation to Him. It is through this great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that we may be cleansed from sin and be in fellowship with God (Rev. 1:5; 1 John 1:7).
In God’s own time, He will bring all things upon this earth to a complete termination, and all will stand before the throne of eternal judgment (Rom. 14:11-12; Rev. 20:11-15). That will be an awesome occasion, and all need to be ready for that tremendous event.
